Bisphenol A

Phthalates

How to protect yourself: avoid using cosmetic products with artificial aromas, cosmetic products labeled to contain phthalates and don’t put your food in plastic containers, but in glass and ceramic ones instead.

Perchlorates

Studies have shown that the most of perchlorates are found in milk, eggs, fruits and vegetables.

Harmful effects: the perchlorates affect the function of the thyroid gland, responsible for managing of all the hormones in the body, and they also block its iodine usage.

How to protect yourself: the best way of protection would be to know the origin of the food you consume, but often times that’s impossible, so the least you can do is take in more food rich in iodine, like seafood is.

Lead

Lead is the greatest pollutant that’s ever been found in water.

Harmful effects: being a heavy metal, lead is very difficult to eliminate from the body. It increases the levels of cortisol in the body, the hormone of stress, and it can be accumulated in the feat area, causing thus problems with blood circulation and blocking the motor skills.

How to protect yourself: take care that the water you drink is filtered and the food you consume is natural and organic. Never drink water from the water heating.

Mercury
