Are You Using the Toilet Paper Correctly: The Original Patent from 1891 Says It All – This Is How To Use Toilet Paper
The eternal debate, over which side should be facing the roll of the toilet paper, can finally be ended.
According to the original draft of the patent from 1891 that was made by a businessman from New York, Set Wheeler, the end of the paper roll should be facing the outside.
This “revolutionary design” was published on the Twitter profile of the writer Owen Williams.
Wheeler, who stood at the head of the company “Albany Perforated Wrapping Paper”, is actually responsible for the perforation on the toilet paper that we use today. The company also invented paper in rolls, back in 1871.
– My invention consists of coiled paper with holes connecting the leaves in order to separate them more easily from one another – wrote Wheeler when he patented his invention,
Now that the mystery is finally solved, we can all live happily ever after, right?
