Did you ever believe that someone can make a step lower in standards than Wendys, McDonalds and Burger King? Take a minute and read this article before you dial up Domino’s for your next pizza. It doesn’t matter if you are an animal activist, a vegan or you just can’t live with those big juicy steaks, one thing is for sure and we all agree on it, the behavior described below needs to be stopped, NOW.

Other fast food brands have at least had the decency to stop using gestation crates for their pregnant pigs but not Dominos, they still allow them.

For about four months of pregnancy, the pregnant pigs are kept in gestation crates and their piglets are taken away after just a few weeks and then the pigs are impregnated again and forced go for another cruel cycle into the gestation crates. This insanity goes on and on for years until the poor pigs are so worn down and when they can’t use them for impregnation they slaughter them. Consumers should not buy the product of such horrific suffering and companies like Domino’s should not tolerate this.

Whether you’re vegetarian, the biggest carnivore on the planet, a vegan or somewhere in between, you will agree that Domino’s must stop using these cruel gestation crates.

Even McDonald’s said it “believes gestation stalls are not a sustainable production system for the future,” and that there “are many alternatives that are better for the wellbeing of sows.”

Why is Domino’s unwilling to listen to the rest of the industry and consumer demand, if all these huge companies can commit to getting rid of gestation crates? Will pepperoni, sausage and ham taste any different without this unthinkable cruelty? We doubt it!
