The New Case For Eating An Entire Avocado Every Day

Research was conducted on 45 healthy, overweight adults who were put on an average American diet for two weeks. After that, they were placed on a low fat (24% fat), one of the two averaged fat diets (34% fat) for five weeks. One of the diets included healthier fatty oils such as sunflower and the other included one avocado daily.

The diets had a direct impact on LDL cholesterol and the best results were achieved by those on the avocado diets. Their LDL cholesterol decreased 13 points, which is far better than 8 points from entrants on the low fat or avocado-free fat diet.

Why is that? Because every source of mono unsaturated fat included in avocados has fatty acids that assist in bolstering heart health. Researchers said that the guacamole staple has more cholesterol-lowering characteristics, such as fiber and plant sterols.

One medium avocado includes 320 calories together with 30g of fat. It is not very practicable to eat one avocado per day, so you can substitute some less nutritious food with at least half an avocado. You can substitute avocado for mayo in your sandwich, sour cream or cheese. You can combine it with sea salt for a snack.
