Have you ever heard that you can determine your health condition based on the farts you produce? You probably have not, and it is no wonder, since it is an unusual way, but it helps.

Farts can sometimes be stinky due to some foods we have previously ingested, such as broccoli, cauliflowers, almonds and Brussels sprouts.

This Is What Your Farts Reveal About Your Health

Additionally, foods rich in sulfur also create pretty smelly farts. Such foods are eggs and meat for instance, and even though it already crossed your mind, you should not stop eating them.

Consumption of foods that cause often creation of gasses helps the microorganisms in the gut to absorb nutrients. It these microorganisms face lack of carbohydrates, the majority of them is going to die.

According to some studies, the average person farts fourteen times a day. This might sound strange to you, but farts, including the smelly ones, are a good thing and they indicate that your digestive system is doing fine. In fact, they are natural gasses that consist of the gasses created by the bacteria in the digestive system and the air we have swallowed.

Still, if your farts smell terribly, that can be a bad sign. Moreover, they can indicate that you are lactose intolerant. The farts that are produced soon after you have eaten dairy products usually indicate that your digestive system cannot break the lactose easily down. In addition, if your farts become too frequent and too smelly, it can be a sign of some chronic issue like gastroenteritis or irritable bowel syndrome, also known as celiac disease.

If the frequency of your farts exceeds twenty farts a day, it is possible that you consume something that brings increased amount of air in your guts. This does not mean that you have health issues, and you can easily make the necessary changes to eliminate this problem. You should also know that even drinking too much coffee can lead to recurrent farts.

The same can happen if you consume too many carbohydrates too, because some types of food cannot be broken down easily by the digestive system, especially following a vegetarian or vegan diet or eating food fast.

Reducing the consumption of foods rich in sulfur, such as beef and pork for example, reduces the amount of stinky farts. You can replace these types of food with chicken and fish.

A Few Extra Tips:

– Always chew the food well before you swallow it. If you chew more slowly, you will make it easier for the intestines and the stomach, as well as for the entire digestive system to break the food down.

– Eat more fresh food, such as fruits and vegetables. They are called natural laxatives, meaning that they regulate and stabilize the bowel movement.

– You can treat some stomach problems by eating garlic, peppermints and sassafras. These foods are some of the many that have been used for treating issues of this kind for many years, since ancient times.
